Malvasia Istriana is part of the large Malvasia family which, apart from the Greek origin, is found practically throughout the Mediterranean. So that some have defined the family “Malvasia Mediterranea”. In a journey to the rediscovery of the vine variety promoted by Ivica Matosevic at the beginning of 2005, about 46 types of Malvasia were identified, especially in the Central / Eastern Mediterranean area, also characterized by the political borders of the countries in which it was historically present. Now the Istrian Malvasia, with Greek, Venetian, French and Italian origins is the one characterized by the widest number of political borders that have fallen and today it is the barycentric of Europe with its presence in Istria. One therefore of the most Italian and at the same time modern European wines we know.
