The Cantina Vallebelbo is based in Santo Stefano Belbo, in the heart of the Langhe, and the birthplace of Cesare Pavese, to whom he dedicated the Langa wines line starting from the Barbaresco. Cesare Pavese, great writer, poet, teacher, literary critic and translator (he translated Moby Dick by Herman Melville), has always been very close to his land and to the great wines produced by it. A famous phrase underlines the love for his land, and today it’s written on the bottles of the Cantina di Vallebelbo: “Your own village means that you’re not alone, that you know there’s something of you in the people and the plants and the soil, that even when you are not there it waits to welcome you.”
