Piedirosso is contributing to the rebirth and development of red wine production on the island of Ischia, which today is characterized by white grape vines such as Biancolella and Forastera and marginally from the Guarnaccia red grape variety. Today in Ischia, in fact, a famous dish is the Stracotto of octopus with Piedirosso, Guarnaccia and Ischitane lentils.
